The main event of the Development Policy Research month (DPRM) is the Annual Public Policy Conference. This year’s conference, which has the theme "Critical Perspectives on Federalism for Regional Development", will be held on September 19, 2017, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, at the Marco Polo Hotel, Ortigas Center, Pasig City.

The keynote speaker will be Socioeconomic Planning Secretary and NEDA Director-General Dr. Ernesto Pernia. Confirmed to present are Dr. Herwig Mayer (GIZ), Dr. Paul Hutchcroft (Australian National University), Dr. Ronald Mendoza (Ateneo School of Government), Prof. Edmund Tayao (Local Government Development Foundation and University of Sto. Tomas), Dr. Rosario Manasan (PIDS), and Dr. Arturo Luz. 

 

The Annual Public Policy Conference, which started in 2015, aims to convene experts and researchers in the social sciences to flag to policymakers critical issues that must be addressed in the immediate term. It is envisioned to serve as a platform to further bridge research and policymaking and enhance evidence-informed planning and policy formulation in the country.

This conference will also be available via live streaming at http://livestreaming.pids.gov.ph.
