A lunch-time press conference on the 15th DPRM will be held on September 7, as part of the 3rd Mindanao Policy Research Forum being organized by the Philippine Institute for Development Studies and Mindanao Development Authority, with support from the Ateneo de Zamboanga University. 

The press conference will be headed by Secretary Datu Hj. Abul Khayr Alonto, MinDA chairman, and Dr. Gilberto Lllanto, PIDS president.  The panel of resource speakers will also include Dr. Rosario Manasan, a senior research fellow of PIDS, and key regional officials of the Department of the Interior and Local Government, Department of Finance-Bureau of Local Government Finance, Department of Budget and Management, and National Economic and Development Authority.

The DPRM is celebrated across the country every September since 2002 in view of Malacañang Proclamation No. 247. This information and advocacy event aims to promote and draw nationwide awareness on the importance of policy research in the formulation of sound development plans, programs, and policies. The proclamation designated PIDS as the lead government agency in the yearly observance of the DPRM.
